Annex Room 1
My name is Rachel Palmer, I’m completing my 1st year at Assumption. I have Bachelor Degree in Human Services with extended course work in Early Childhood. I have 10 years experience in care giver services working for cognitively impaired individuals faster care. I have a wonderful husband of 7 years and a 5 year old daughter. I’m enjoying my role as lead.
I am working toward my degree in Elementary Education and I’m very excited to be part of the Assumption team! Previously, I worked with young adults with autism, helping them learn independent living skills. Some of my hobbies include reading, swimming, and playing with my nieces and nephew.
I am currently in nursing school at Wayne State University. I am originally from Alaska, and lived in Los Angeles for the last 5 years. I began at Assumption in May 2019. I love getting to learn and play with the kiddos! My hobbies include making pottery, ice skating, and snuggling with my 2 kittens.
I went to the University of Michigan and studied Early Childhood Education, with a minor in business and family law. I have 2 boys, Michael and Andrew, and 3 grandchildren. My experience includes teaching at various early childhood centers and head start.
I am currently a Junior at the University of Michigan Dearborn, studying Biology. In the future, I plan to attend Vet school and practice Wildlife Veterinary Medicine. I have two dogs, Rosie and Roo, and in my free time I’m normally studying or hanging out with friends!
Annex Room 2
I have been a member of the Assumption family since 2008. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Early Childhood – Children & Families. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Michael, our son, Jack and our array of pets
My name is Olivia Economopoulos and I one of the lead teachers in Room 2 at the Assumption Annex. I have been working at Assumption since 2010. I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood at Wayne State. My husband and I had a beautiful babyh boy this past December (2018) and I was thrilled for the opportunity to come back to work at the Annex. I love to read in my spare time when I am not spending time with my husband Andreas, Baby Michael and our Beagle Jax.
I have been a member of Assumption since January 2019. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my four children and husband.
I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I am now getting a second degree in nursing at Wayne State University. I’ve been working at Assumption, on and off, for 4 years. During my free time, I like to spend time with friends and family, practice yoga, snowboard, and go boating.
My name is Joanna. I have been at the Assumption Toddler Annex since January of 2019. My prior experience includes being a substitute teacher and small business owner. I have a degree in English from Oakland University. I have 3 children, a boy and two girls. I also have a cat, a Siberian Husky (we rescued them) and a bunny. My hobbies are gardening, cooking and traveling.
I am currently a senior at University of Detroit Mercy. I plan on graduating with a bachelors in psychology and using that to go to nursing school next year. I love playing volleyball in my free time and spending time with my friends and family.
I am currently studying social work and psychology at Wayne State University. I have enjoyed working with children since I was in middle school, and hope to continue to do so in my field after I graduate. I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
