I am starting my 5th year at Assumption! I am currently pursuing my Elementary Education degree at Wayne State University along with participating in various theatrical productions with Grosse Pointe Theatre. I am extremely excited to get to know the new kiddos coming into the school year and to get to see familiar faces grow throughout the year!
This will be my first year working at Assumption. I have an Associates Degree from Macomb Community College, and am currently enrolled in Early Childhood Studies program at Macomb. I have been a nanny for eight years, caring for children three months to ten years old, including children with special needs. For two years I worked at a summer school program for elementary aged children with Autism. For the past five years I have been the nursery school teacher for children under five years old at my church, along with teaching Sunday School lessons. I was also a teacher’s assistant for two years at a preschool in Grosse Pointe. In my spare time I like to read, snuggle with my four cats, hang out with friends and family, and watch Netflix. I am excited for the school year to see how each child develops, and to see the individual creativeness and imagination they bring to their classrooms.
I attended Macomb County Community College and received an Associate of Arts degree and finished at Wayne State University where I received a Bachelors of Science degree. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist until I had my children in 1981. I later worked at the Children’s Home of Detroit where I ran a classroom and ultimately worked at Mt. Clemens Montessori for several years. This is my third year at Assumption. I’ve been married for 36 years and have two sons, both are married. I enjoy vacations in St Thomas, and attending concerts and sporting events. I also enjoy helping to take care of my grandchild Elizabeth Metry.
This year begins my 15th year here at Assumption. My husband Larry and I have been married 42 years. We have two children, Ryan and Lauren. My big treasurers are my three grandchildren. Isabella, Ryan Jr., and Tori. I come from a family of 13 children so children are my life. I see each child as an individual who with love and guidance will develop into their own person.
My name is Emily Mulier. I grew up a few blocks from Assumption Nursery in Grosse Pointe Woods and graduated in Grosse Pointe North High School in 2014. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy and I’, looking forward to furthering my education in occupational therapy. I’ve always had a passion to work with children. In my free time, I enjoy staying active and listening to music.
