Creating a Positive Environment for Our Children.

To Assumption Nursery School Parents
Re: School Closing Due To Coronavirus National Emergency

Dear Parents, We will be closing Assumption Nursery School and Annex  beginning Monday, March 16, due to the National and State Emergency declared for the Coronavirus. Since we follow State guidelines, we were awaiting the results of a morning meeting that took place today with Governor Whitmer, LARA and Health Dept. regarding preschool closures. The Governor had not made a decision on closing preschools as of this evening.
During this closure, we will update our parents and staff each Friday with any information from the State. We will again follow State guidelines for reopening.
Please feel free to contact our Administrator, Joan DeRonne, with any questions. j.deronne@goassumption.org or 313-530-0639. Our priority is always to serve our families by providing a healthy environment and ensuring safety first with our very best resources and staff.

 Yours Truly,
George Petrouleas
Assumption Nursery School Committee Chairperson

About Us

Assumption enthusiastically provides the best in early childhood education. Our school’s director, Christol DeWaele brings with her a rich background in early childhood development and education leadership. She continuously looks for new, innovative ideas in our approach to enrich the developmental experience of our students.

Our Mission

Develop each child as a total individual – socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively in a secure and caring environment.

The School is one of the largest nursery schools in the state and has received the Governor’s Award for Excellence recognition. We are fully licensed program by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services.

Our Facility

Our facilities are ideally scaled to size for children. The thirteen generously sized classrooms all boast various learning centers to help your children develop language arts, math, science, and life skills. We also have a full size gymnasium where children receive daily physical education classes.

Additionally, there is an enclosed courtyard, spacious grounds with separate age appropriate play areas for both toddlers and pre- schoolers. A hands- on nature trail also provides ample opportunities.
